The Member Civics League, a group where people with disabilities and their allies meet to discuss issues and plan actions to bring about positive change, had its first meeting in October 2016.
The Civics League has always been an inclusive group, welcoming members of ICS as well as many activists in the community who are not part of ICS. To better reflect all who participate, the group voted at its November 2017 meeting to change its name to the Civics League for Disability Rights.
The group’s mission to educate and motivate activists has not changed. You can listen to several members of the Civics League sharing their thoughts about it with Independence Radio host Stephanie Wallace.
