Please join with me in congratulating ICS Senior Vice President of Advocacy and the Women’s Health Program for being one of nine Henry Viscardi Achievement Award recipients this year.
The international Awards recognize exemplary leaders within the disability community and their extraordinary societal contributions, while remembering the spirit and legacy of the Center’s founder, Dr. Henry Viscardi, Jr., who served as a disability advisor to eight U.S. Presidents, from Franklin D Roosevelt to Jimmy Carter.
Marilyn was chosen in recognition of her 40-year history of fighting to improve the lives of people with disabilities. Her relentless advocacy work has made a difference to an untold number of people with disabilities in New York City, including hundreds of our members who have received potentially life-saving breast cancer screenings and gynecological examinations through our Women’s Health Access Program.
We are so proud to have such a hard-working and respected advocate in the ICS family, and we are tremendously proud of this important recognition for Marilyn by the Viscardi Center. Congratulations Marilyn! Read more about the award here.
